Usefulness of technology.
Technology is the use of scientific
knowledge for practical purpose or application of fulfilling man's need either
in the industry or in our everyday lives. Whenever we use our scientific knowledge
to achieve some specific purpose, we are using technology. The term
‘Technology” is wide, and everyone has their way of understanding its meaning.
We use technology to accomplish various tasks in our daily lives, it is also used
to simplify our daily lives. We use technology to extend our abilities in doing
things.
Technology is used to solve scientific
problems and discoveries. Technology is different from science because Science discovers
the theory while technology carries out the application of the discovery.
Useful technology found in homes
• Television can be used to view audio
visual information and it comes in different size and brands.
•Radio is used for audio transmission
and receiving of information and it comes also in different sizes and designs.
•CD/DVD
player is used for playing prerecorded audio or audio
visual information from (CD) compact disc and it comes on different sizes and designs.
Technology products found in schools are magnetic
board, water dispenser, computers, sound system, bench vices, air conditioner,
wall clock, bells etc.
